beckyangelix asked: I've been going through your washing tags, and I couldn't find a complete explanation of this anywhere. What do you mean when you say that DreadHead HQ shampoo is not residue-free? Do you mean that it would leave as much residue as any random shampoo like Herbal Essences/L'Oreal, etc...? If so, why do they try to say that their's is residue-free, and how do they get by saying that?
It’s a totally viable option… if you feel like paying $10 for like, 8oz of shampoo. But it isn’t any better than any clarifying shampoo you can pick up at your local drugstore. There is nothing special about it at all.
No shampoo, period, is completely residue-free. The idea is that it is lacking additives such as heavy scents & conditioning products that build up heavily in your hair. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t leave ANYTHING behind. It’s just a cute little term they throw around to make you get all stressed out & want to buy their product because they have made you think you NEED it. (Brilliant marketing team, totally shit products full of sawdust & lies.)
More importantly though, it doesn’t matter if it is 100% “residue-free” or not! It’s absurd how much that term is exaggerated. Just don’t use something with conditioners & such. Any basic daily clarifier- hell, even dish soap- is just as “residue-free” & works just as well if not better.
To remove the little bit of residues that ANY of these products leave behind, just do a deep clean every few months. Voila- squeaky clean ♥
